Plebe Marchback Report from Ralph Burr dated August 19, 2008

It was a blast. I linked up with a plebe from my neighborhood whom I helped this past year. A real bright kid. I hope he does well.  The class as well represented. I'm sure someone will send you the actual head-count. Some walking wounded also came there, for the fellowship, I guess. John Mumford and Don Snider were among that crowd.

I trained fairly hard for it, but it turned out to be not as severe a test as rumored. Though up and down (first "up" was a duzie) the trail was easy walking. I sat with Gus Fishburne at the luncheon following, and we agreed that the advertised length (12 mi) might have been a bit of an exaggeration as well.

Along the route, there were several substantial breaks with Gator Aid and fruit available as well as Port-a-Potties all along the route. Of course, I did not use them as I remembered that they are a favorite ambush site for the evil forces of the Circle Trigon!!
