Guys-

The Class of '62 is signing up for the Golfing Grads faster than any other class.  Listed below are those classmates who have already indicated they are coming.

Tom Murray, Bernie Skown, Ralph Burr, Al DeJardin, Tom McGarry, Rusty Wilkerson, Win Ward, Ron Stock, Sonny Sloan, John Winkler, Barry Thomas, Mike Champion (Barry's son-in-law), Jim Cowles, Charlie Bernitt, Gene Welper, Jeff Alt, Tom Kling, Dave Symanski, Art Brown, Roger Lee, Bill Dworsak, Chuck Dominy.

I would like to emphasize that if you have not done so go ahead and make your hotel reservation.  If you do not have roommate and want one let me know and I will match you up with a classmate.  Even if you don't yet have a roommate you can still make your hotel reservation and just tell them that you will provide the roomie's name later.  If you are not absolutely sure about coming I would still recommend that you make your reservation as you can always cancel later (up to 72 hours before your arrival date).  Tom

The Golfing Grads of USMA

18th Annual Reunion & Golf Tournament

World Golf Village Renaissance Resort, Florida

May 11 - 14, 2006

January, 2006

We have decided to return to the World Golf Village Renaissance Resort in St. Augustine, Florida as the resort again offered the best package for the money.

The basic three-day packages are for the evenings of May 11-13 while the extra night with breakfast package is for evenings either before or after the basic package dates. The local resident package applies to those who live in the St. Augustine area and prefer to stay at home while playing in the three golf competitions and attending the two catered dinners.  It can also apply to those who have made arrangements to stay somewhere other than the Renaissance Hotel.

Last year we were fortunate to have LTG Buster Hagenbeck, Class of 1971, as our guest speaker.  This year, we have invited the USMA Superintendent to attend and speak. Another possibility is to have David Lipsky, the author of “Absolutely American”, join us.  Let us know if you have any suggested speakers.

Again this year several classes will help share the load of running this event -  ’61 will obtain the prizes, ’62 will procure the items in the “goodie bag”, ’63 will write the competition rules and set up the pairings, ’64 will stock the hospitality suite, and ’66 will do the scoring for both the individual and class competitions.

One change this year is that the golf courses will no longer allow your Golfing Grads committee to set up practice rounds.  As a result, you will have to contact the courses, arrange your own times and foursomes, and guarantee payment.  See paragraph 1 d (2) of the reply sheet for details

Right now, the golf and hotel reservations are for 120 people.  Call your classmates and friends and let them know how much fun we have.

We hope to see you in May-
